VuELA con ALE Association has made a financial donation to the Foundation for the Management of Health Research in Seville (FISEVI). At the Association’s request, the funds will be allocated to the Neuromuscular Diseases Research Group at the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS). The presentation ceremony once again highlighted the Association’s commitment to scientific research and its determination to support the fight against these conditions.
This latest contribution is the result of the Association’s ongoing efforts and the generosity shown by supporters who have taken part in the various fundraising initiatives organised by VuELA con ALE over recent months.
During the presentation ceremony, representatives of the Association, led by its President, Carmen Alonso Moreno, stressed that every fundraising initiative organised by VuELA con ALE has a clear purpose: to support people living with neuromuscular diseases such as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), as well as their families.
Representing the IBiS Neuromuscular Diseases Research Group, Principal Investigator Dr Carmen Paradas López, together with researchers Elvira Arroyo García, Beatriz Rodríguez Garrido, Victoria Navarro Garrido and Francisco Javier Gómez Fernández, expressed their gratitude for the Association’s continued support. They also highlighted the vital role that patient organisations and society as a whole play in advancing biomedical research.
Contributions such as this make it possible to further research into neuromuscular diseases, expand new lines of scientific investigation, improve diagnosis and patients’ quality of life, and support the development of future therapies.

In addition to representatives of the VuELA con ALE Association and members of the IBiS Neuromuscular Diseases Research Group, the event was also attended by Jesús Ordóñez Cabello and Macarena Segura Oliva from FISEVI’s Legal Advisory Unit, the department responsible for managing the donation.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Neuromuscular Diseases Research Group’s laboratories, where members of the Association had the opportunity to learn about some of the projects currently being carried out by the team. They also gained first-hand insight into the day-to-day work of the laboratory and a better understanding of the considerable effort involved in translating basic research into potential clinical applications.
