Share on:
The Marco Luna Association has made a new donation to support the research carried out by the Cell Therapy and Novel Therapeutic Targets in Onco-Hematology research group at the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS), led by Dr. José Antonio Pérez Simón.
As part of the initiative, representatives of the association visited the IBiS facilities, where they learned first-hand about the group’s main research activities and the progress being made in the field of cell therapy and the development of new therapeutic strategies for onco-hematological diseases. The visit concluded with the presentation of the donation to the research team, in an event attended by representatives of the Public Foundation for the Management of Health Research in Seville (FISEVI).

Dr. Pérez Simón’s research group conducts extensive translational research in close collaboration with the Hematology Department of the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital. Its main areas of research include cell therapy, CAR-T therapies, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, personalized medicine, and the identification of novel therapeutic targets, with the aim of translating scientific advances into clinical practice and improving patient care.
This collaboration highlights the essential role that patient associations and civil society play in advancing biomedical research. For several years, the Marco Luna Association has maintained a strong commitment to this research line, continuously supporting projects aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of hematological diseases.
FISEVI and IBiS would like to express its sincere gratitude to the Marco Luna Association for its continued trust and commitment to health research. Initiatives such as this strengthen the partnership between society and the scientific community, helping to drive forward high-impact research that brings innovative treatments and better outcomes for patients.
