IBiS presents the 2026/2027 edition of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research

- This welcome event provided the new students with an opportunity to learn more about the Institute, the organisation of the Master’s programme, and the training and research opportunities offered within the IBiS-FISEVI-US environment.

The Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBiS) held the Welcome Day for the 2026 Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research, an event aimed at new students on the programme and designed as a starting point for their integration into the Institute’s biomedical research environment.
The event took place on 30 September in the IBiS Auditorium and was attended by representatives of the Institute’s Scientific Directorate, IBiS Management, the Foundation for the Management of Health Research in Seville (FISEVI), as well as the coordinators of the IBiS-US Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research and the Doctoral Programme.
The event began with a welcome address by IBiS Scientific Director Rafael Fernández Chacón, who introduced the students to the Institute and its research activities, as well as to the scientific environment in which they will undertake a significant part of their training.
This was followed by an overview from IBiS and FISEVI Manager José Cañón Campos, who explained the role of management and institutional support in the development of research activities, introducing the new students to some of the resources and structures that underpin the research carried out at IBiS.
The programme continued with a presentation by Diana Aguilar Morante, Coordinator of the IBiS-US Master’s Degree in Biomedical Research, who outlined the main features of the programme, its organisation and the training opportunities available to students.
In addition, Ricardo Pardal Redondo, Coordinator of the IBiS Doctoral Programme, presented the academic and research opportunities offered by the PhD programme to those wishing to continue their training and pursue a career in research.
The event concluded with a networking coffee, providing students with an opportunity to make initial connections with fellow students and the professionals who took part in the welcome session. This informal gathering encouraged the exchange of experiences and scientific interests among those in attendance.
