Our Technology Transfer Unit, comprising our colleagues Alba Hoyos and Elvira Cruces, took part in BIOSPAIN 2025, one of the leading international events in the biotechnology sector. The event brought together companies, research centres, and key institutions in the life sciences field in Barcelona.
Over the course of the three-day event, the Unit was present at a shared stand alongside other members of the Innovation Management Foundations Network (RFGI) of Andalusia — including FIBAO, FIBICO, FCÁDIZ, and FIMABIS — under the name Technology Transfer Office of the Andalusian Public Healthcare System, part of the Progreso y Salud Foundation.

Participation in BIOSPAIN enabled the Unit to hold over 20 meetings with companies and organisations in the sector, meet new players in the biotechnology ecosystem, and reconnect with long-standing collaborators. The event also provided an opportunity to present the Institute of Biomedicine and local hospitals, along with several technologies from our portfolio and the range of services and collaboration opportunities available through our facilities and specialised staff.
The event also featured a number of insightful talks and round tables, addressing current challenges and emerging trends in biotechnology, healthcare, and innovation.
The presence of the Technology Transfer Unit at BIOSPAIN reinforces its commitment to knowledge transfer, public–private collaboration, and the valorisation of biomedical research — key pillars for continuing to drive innovation within the Andalusian healthcare system.
