The Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena (HUVM) and the Fundación para la Gestión de la Investigación en Salud de Sevilla (FISEVI) have awarded the prestigious ‘Residentes Excelentes’ award to Alba Vidal, a specialist in the dermatology department, and Jaime González from the digestive system department of this hospital.

This recognition aims to highlight the outstanding work, commitment to care, and professional excellence of those resident physicians who complete their specialized healthcare training with outstanding merit. The award is based on several criteria, including clinical and academic performance, participation in scientific activities, authorship or co-authorship of scientific publications, training placements at national and international centers, as well as involvement in conference presentations and multicenter or multidisciplinary research projects. The award was presented during the tribute ceremony for the Resident Medical Interns (EIR) who complete their training in 2025. This event represents a moment of public recognition of the dedication, vocation, and effort of the professionals who have contributed to the smooth running of the hospital during their residency years.
