The 2nd Research Conference of the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena (HUVM) was on 20 and 21 November. The event, which brought together professionals from the field of health research, was described as a complete success by the organisation after the Centro Virgen de los Reyes welcomed more than 250 attendees.

During these two days, progress and new initiatives related to the research carried out at the hospital itself were shared, and the diversity and volume of projects in which the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena (HUVM) participates was also shown, making clear the commitment to innovation and healthcare.

The Foundation’s manager, José Cañón, attended at the opening of the event and moderated TABLE 1 entitled: “RESEARCH AND FUNDING PLANS” together with Carlos Míguez, Assistant Physician to the Hospital Management; in addition, our colleague Elvira Cruces, from the FISEVI Technology Transfer Unit, presented together with Arturo Argüello, from the Technology Transfer Office of the Public Health System of Andalusia (OTT-SSPA) – Fundación Pública Andaluza Progreso y Salud, the presentation “PROTECTION OF INTANGIBLE ASSETS AND TRANSFER” included in TABLE 2 called: “INNOVATION IN MANAGEMENT, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND TRANSFER TO THE MARKET”.

The success of this edition of the event reinforces the role of the conference as an essential space for the scientific and healthcare community of Seville, and allows us to continue promoting excellence in medical research.
