The Human Genetics and Reproduction group of the Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla (IBiS) and the H.U. Virgen del Rocío (HUVR), led by Dr. Guillermo Antiñolo, is looking for candidates to apply for the call for 4-year predoctoral contracts in the Health Research Training (PFIS) program of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII), AES 2025.

The objective is to carry out the doctoral thesis within the framework of the research project “Development of a clinical, genomic and bioinformatics strategy for the genetic diagnosis of hereditary retinal dystrophies: translation into clinical practice and evaluation of the impact on health”.

(PI24/02129) funded by the AES 2024. This project aims to delve deeper into the molecular bases of hereditary retinal dystrophies through genomic analysis of patients using different next-generation sequencing strategies, design optimal data analysis strategies, the functional study of genomic findings and their integration with clinical data.

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Degree in Health Sciences (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, etc.).
• Master’s degree valid for the doctorate or plan to obtain it before the period of objections (approx. July 2025).
• Be enrolled or admitted to a doctoral program in the academic year 2025-2026.
• Average grade of academic record above 8 (out of 10).
• Previous experience in research laboratories verifiable through authorship in publications, participation in conferences, research projects, etc.
