The Management Directorate of the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena, in collaboration with its Teaching Committee and the FISEVI Foundation, as part of its commitment to promoting quality teaching, is announcing a first prize for excellence, a second prize for excellence, and two applications for the PREMIO SANITAS, for residents completing their residency in 2025.

 

CALL FOR ENTRIES

1. The FIRST PRIZE will be awarded a net prize of 2,000 euros, while the SECOND PRIZE will be awarded 1,000 euros.

 

2. The TWO APPLICATIONS selected for the aforementioned national SANITAS MIR award will be proposed by the hospital.

 

3. Each Teaching Unit may submit a maximum of TWO proposals for residents who will complete their training in 2025 for each accredited training program, through its corresponding Head of Department and with the agreement of the specialty tutors.

 

4. Candidate Requirements:

a) Completion of residency during the 2024-2025 academic year.

b) Average grade during residency ≥ 9.

 

5. Candidates must send their documentation by email to the following address: docensec.hvm.sspa@juntadeandalucia.es, indicating in the subject line: “PREMIO RESIDENTES EXCELENTES HUVM 2025”

Candidates must provide the following documentation:

a) Signed application form with the following information:

• • • • Name and surname.
      • National Identity Document (DNI/NIE) number.
      • Contact telephone number.
      • Email address

b) Curriculum vitae arranged according to the attached criteria, providing supporting documentation of merits (arranged, classified, and numbered according to the order established in the self-assessment and in the curriculum vitae; otherwise, the candidate will be excluded).

c) Only merits obtained during the current residency period and related to the candidate’s specialty will be considered.

d) A maximum of four contributions per conference or book will be considered.

6. The application period will be from the date of publication of this call until 28th March, 2025, inclusive.
7. This Call, as well as Annex 1, will be sent to residents completing their training by email. Once the requirements have been met, they must be submitted to the Heads of the Teaching Units, who will decide on the proposals.
8. The Teaching Committee will select the eight best proposals from among the applicants, which will submit them to the Awarding Committee.
9. The Award Committee, composed of the Medical Director, the Managing Director of FISEVI, and the Head of Studies, who will act as secretary, will select:

a) The candidates for the FIRST AND SECOND EXCELLENCE AWARDS from among the eight aforementioned candidates. The remaining candidates will act as substitutes in the event that any of the selected candidates declines the award.

b) The TWO candidates that the Hospital selects to compete for the PREMIO SANITAS 2025. The remaining candidates will act as substitutes in the event that any of the selected candidates declines to accept the nomination.

10. The selection of the same candidate in the cases described in sections 9a) and 9b) will be compatible.
11. Once its work is completed, the Award Committee will submit the corresponding proposal to the Management of the Virgen Macarena University Hospital. This proposal will be binding, provided that compliance with the material and formal requirements for the validity of the proposal is demonstrated.
12. In light of the proposal made by the Teaching Committee, a provisional resolution will be issued awarding the awards for excellence in specialized training, including the scores achieved by the selected candidates. This resolution will be published on the Teaching Committee’s notice board and sent by email to all participants.
13. Objections to the provisional resolution may be submitted within 10 calendar days following its publication.
14. After the period for objections has elapsed, a final resolution awarding the awards for excellence in specialized training will be issued, which will be published on the Teaching Committee’s notice board and sent by email to participants.

 

This call and its bases and any administrative acts derived from them and from the actions of the Award Committee, may be challenged, in the cases and in the forms provided for in Law 30/1992, of 26th November, on the Legal Regime of Public Administrations and the Common Administrative Procedure, and may be filed against this Resolution, which exhausts the administrative route, optionally, an appeal for reconsideration before this Management Directorate within a period of one month, starting from the day following its publication, or an administrative contentious appeal within a period of two months counted from the day following the publication of this Resolution on the notice boards of the Hospital Universitario Virgen Macarena, before the competent Court of said Jurisdictional order in accordance with the provisions of article 46 of Law 29/1.998.
